About us
The National Applied Artificial Intelligence Consortium (NAAIC) is a collaboration led by Miami Dade College (MDC), Houston Community College (HCC), and Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) to provide leadership, training, and guidance for community colleges and companies in the development and growth of AI professionals nationally. The overall goal of NAAIC is to advance the education and training of a diverse and highly skilled technical workforce in the field of AI. The project has the support of an expansive network of industry partners like Intel, AWS, Microsoft, SeedAI, among others.

Announcing a free AWS AI Practitioner Faculty Training in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy to empower community college educators to teach the new AWS AI Practitioner certification. The training will combine 6 hours of instructor-led sessions with 18 hours of self-paced learning, equipping participants with essential knowledge of AI and ML principles and practical use cases. Eligible faculty with foundational AI and ML knowledge will gain the tools to prepare students for AI careers. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a voucher to take the AWS AI Practitioner certification exam, further supporting the advancement of AI education at the community college level. The National Applied AI Consortium is announcing a collaboration with Grow with Google to support college faculty to develop AI skills and equip students with in-demand skills, including those in AI, through the recently announced Google Prompting Essentials, Google AI Essentials, and Google Career Certificates program (now with AI training). The new Google Prompting Essentials course teaches students how to instruct AI - known as prompting - in 5 easy steps and make AI work for them. The self-paced course is taught by AI experts at Google and can be completed in less than ten hours, no experience necessary. Community colleges can access these courses at no cost.
