Conferences, Events, and ATE@20

Conferences and meetings play such an important role for all of us
as we work to disseminate information about the valuable impacts
and outcomes of our ATE projects and centers. If you plan on
hosting or presenting at a conference or meeting in the coming
months, here are a few ideas on how to promote your work, the work
of the ATE community at large, and how the ATE@20 book may be able
              to help.

              -
Take advantage of social media as a forum for promoting
your upcoming conference. Facebook and Twitter, especially, are
great platforms for posting consistent updates leading up to
your event. Countdown teasers (for example, reminders of the
event 10, 5, and 1 day out) can be especially fun and
                beneficial!

              -
                The ATE Event Calendar
is an easy way to promote an upcoming event or meeting your
project or center may be hosting or attending. Fill out the
template (URL) on the ATE Central site to provide us with
information about your event so we can add it to the calendar
and promote it through the Connection newsletter.

              -
Post blog entries about the upcoming event. While not
everyone has the time or resources to maintain a blog space,
those projects and centers that have an online blog presence
should take advantage of this type of forum. Posts can discuss
the conference or event subject broadly, highlight the keynote
speaker, or offer links to related resources.

              -
                Use the ATE@20 book
to highlight the achievements of your project or center and tie
your specific achievements back to those of the ATE community.
Industry partners, educators, and the general public are
interested in learning about your work and what the whole ATE
program has to offer. Copies of the ATE@20 book are available
free of charge. Simply email [email protected] to receive
additional copies to hand out at your event.

              -
Keep an eye out for the upcoming ATE@20 PowerPoint Template!
After receiving requests from the ATE community, we are
currently developing a PowerPoint template that will highlight
the past 20 years of ATE, and that can be personalized to
include information about the impacts of the specific goals,
progress, and successes of your project or center.

If you have other suggestions or personal stories about how you
are advancing ATE at conferences and events, let us know by
              sending an email to
              [email protected]!
