Composite Column Design

This seven-page laboratory activity guide from Edmonds College introduces undergraduate students to how materials properties are used in engineering design across a modular activity spanning 3-5 class sessions. Students simulate the use of composite columns, use spreadsheets to optimize design for performance, and learn about composite design, fabrication, and evaluation.
