Exploring High Tech Careers

This resource from the Florida Advanced Technological Education (FLATE) Center will help students develop their understanding of high tech careers. The lesson will provide students the opportunity to use the internet to access career and education planning information while considering their own employability and skills. By completing the lesson, students should be able to "demonstrate the ability to locate, understand, and use career information," "use the Internet to access career and education planning information, and "demonstrate employability skills such as working on a team, problem-solving and organizational skills." The activity should require two or three class periods to complete. The lesson plan includes a list of materials needed, student competencies and objectives, a step-by-step description of the activity, and a section on evaluation.
