This 2-page activity provides a real world application of the Advanced Technology Environmental and Energy Center's Recommended Core Curriculum. This curriculum was identified by ATEEC Fellows as necessary preparation for environmental technology occupations. In this activity, students experiment with serial dilution and parts per million. At the end of the activity, students will understand how to perform lab procedures, translate real world problems into math relationship, apply ratios and proportions to solve problems, manipulate and substitute variables to solve formulas, and demonstrate safe practices. The activity is appropriate for a high school biology or chemistry class.
