Mathematics for Photonics Education: Geometry

This lecture, presented by John Chamberlain, covers the basics of geometry as it relates to photonics education. In 25 minutes, Chamberlain discusses the basics of lines, angles, and triangle terminology. Once these basics are covered, Chamberlain then provides examples of these concepts, focusing on things such as measuring angles, drawing angles, and finding the area of various items using a diagonal divider. Upon completing the lecture, students should be able to recognize parallel and perpendicular lines and understand their properties, measure angles, and find unknown angle measures in triangles algebraically.
