NCSR: Introduction to Mammalogy

Introduction to Mammalogy is a laboratory/field-based 3-credit course. The lectures introduce students to the characteristics, evolutionary history, classification, adaptations, ecology, and natural history of mammals. The labs emphasize field techniques for the the study of mammalian biodiversity and abundance. 

This 107-page instructional guide outlines the course and includes four main sections: Course Outline, Notes for Instructors, Labs and Activities, and Student Assessment. Labs and Activities include Mammalian Skull Structure, Mammal Classification, Field Techniques, Measuring and Assessing Species I, II, and III, and Line Transect Methods of Estimating Abundance.
