Why Exemplary Automotive Career Pathway Programs Work: 5 Case Studies
These slides, provided by Automotive Manufacturing Technical Education Collaborative (AMTEC), were presented at the 2013 Spring Academy - Building Pathways: Developing the Future of the Manufacturing Workforce. "Topics included preparing high school and college students for employment in manufacturing fields, as well as what college and industry are doing to increase the skill sets of incumbent workers."
This presentation provides information about AMTEC's journey into career pathways and pipelines. The following were the four phases of the journey: conduct review of the literature on career pathway programs, identify characteristics of effective pathway programs and create an AMTEC Career Pathway Model, identify and conduct case studies of exemplary career pathway programs, and create tool kit and promote implementation of AMTEC Career Pathway Best Practices amongst members. This presentation provides information for each phase, but especially focuses on the case studies. Additional conference presentation slides are available to view separately.
