AMP UP Your 8th Grade Curriculum with Integrated Practices
These presentation slides from Advanced Manufacturing and Prototyping Integrated to Unlock Potential (AMP-IT-UP) provide an outline of the science modules implemented in eighth grade classrooms in the Griffin-Spalding County School System as a result of the AMP-IT-UP partnership between the Georgia Institute of Technology (GT) and the Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS). AMP-IT-UP is "a National Science Foundation Math and Science Partnership to promote workforce development and to identify and cultivate the next generation of creative STEM innovators." The presenters were Kassidy A. Bynoe and Shannon Thompson of Griffin-Spalding Schools. Modules discussed in this presentation are: Experimental Design: Ocean Blizzard; Data Visualization: Helmet Challenge; and Decision Making: Skate Park Challenge.
