This webinar, provided by the Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge Support Center, discusses the potential of using scanning electron microscopes (SEM) in hands-on activities to enable and support students in remote classes. In the first part of this webinar, Zachary Gray presents on microscopy in education, which commonly uses optical microscopes. Additionally, he introduces SEM technology and how it can be implemented in virtual classrooms. The presentation also includes a tutorial using the Phenom XL Desktop SEM that covers sample set-up and navigation of user interface and various settings. The webinar concludes with a panel of educators, who are part of the RAINN Network, for a questions and answers segment.
