Evelyn Brown
Evelyn Brown is the director of extension research and development for NC State Industry Expansion Solutions (IES). She leads the research and development effort and works to develop relationships with faculty whose research interests can be applied to solve problems for North Carolina manufacturers. Evelyn is part of the evaluation services team at IES that provides formative and summative assessment for statewide projects and grant-funded projects. Evelyn comes to IES after 18 years in academia. She has a B.S. in mathematics, an M.S. in operations research and a Ph. D. in systems engineering. She currently serves on the advisory board of the East Carolina University Department of Engineering. She has served as an ABET evaluator since 2011.
Our organization is currently the evaluator for four active ATE projects, with two new projects planned to start in 2024. We have been providing ATE evaluations for approximately 10 years. We also have experience evaluating other NSF projects, such as ITEST, REU, and S-STEM, among others,
