                        This document provides information on best practices for collecting student data after professional development (PD) to evaluate impact. This resource is part of the Professional Development Formative Assessment System (PD-FAS). PD-FAS was created by the Formative Assessment for Advanced Technician Education 2 (FAS4ATE2) project.
Privacy considerations, types of data to collect, and how to use the data is explored. After reading and using this resource, users will be able to:
- identify the kind of information one can collect from participant teachers to learn about how they are using what they learned in PD, and what their students have learned as a result;
 - design systems and structures that protect the privacy of those teachers’ individual students.

This resource includes the following sections: Outcomes, Why should you care, Introduction, How do I protect students' privacy, and What data you might collect.
Other professional development materials from this project are available to view separately.
