ROVRunners: Technical Report

This 23-page report, provided by Linn-Benton Community College, describes the design and construction of the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) created by the ROVRunners team for the Explorer Class of the 2024 MATE ROV competition. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, and Navigator, and Scout.
The report begins with an abstract introducing the ROVRunners and their ROV followed by a discussion of teamwork. The Design Rationale section covers the team's design philosophy and goes into detail the ROV's electronics and hardware. Also included in the report is ROV and team safety, testing and troubleshooting techniques, and accounting. Systems integration diagrams and the following appendices are included: Setup Plan, Operations Plan, and Cost Accounting.
