This video, published by EvaluATE: Evaluation Resource Center for Advanced Technological Education, is the second in a six-part series for applicants in the process of writing proposals for a National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) grant. Each video in the series covers a different aspect of the role of evaluations in an ATE grant proposal. This video discusses identifying an evaluator for an ATE grant proposal. The video begins by outlining key elements of an ATE proposal, including the project description and evaluation plan. The video covers evaluator qualifications, information about the evaluator to include in the proposal, and how to request funds to support an external evaluator. Data is shared from the 2019 ATE Annual Survey on how grantees identified their project's evaluator.

Three resources for further guidance are highlighted:

  • Evaluation Plan Checklist for ATE Proposals
  • Finding and Selecting an Evaluator for ATE Proposals
  • Evaluator Biographical Sketch Template for NSF Proposals

The video runs 00:06:28 minutes in length. Other parts in this series, as well as the three resources for proposal writing featured in this video, are available to view separately. The next video covers evaluation questions.
