Programmable Drone Coding Lesson

This 3-page lesson plan, provided by Northwestern Connecticut Community College, features an activity where students write a program that guides a drone through an obstacle course. The lesson runs six class periods and simulates the use of an autonomous drone to perform delivery functions. Upon completion of the lesson, students will be able to "write simple programs for an Arduino controller and guide a CoDrone Pro programmable drone through basic maneuvers and a simple obstacle course to a pre-defined landing point." The lesson plan includes background information, steps for each day of the lesson, a lesson outline, and resources needed. This lesson was developed by a high school teacher after completing a summer externship in industry.
