Course Description

This collection from, the Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge Resource Center (NACK Center), includes materials from the undergraduate laboratory course titled Materials, Safety, and Equipment Overview for Nanotechnology. The following five units are included in the course:

  1. Safety and Environmental Concerns
  2. Processing/Manufacturing Infrastructure
  3. Materials Overview
  4. General Processing Concerns, Contamination and Damage
  5. Basic Characterizations Tools.

Course Contents

Each unit includes a number of lectures and laboratory activities in .ppt and .pdf formats. Most lectures are also included in .mp4 format. Lectures provide in-depth coverage of each topic, including illustrations, examples, and comprehensive information.  A .zip folder of lectures in Spanish are also included in .pdf and .ppt formats.

Each lab includes a variety of information, such as an objective, background information, a detailed procedure, charts and tables, and follow-up questions. 

For orientation purposes E SC 211 Unit 1 Lecture 1.pdf is included as a separate attachment and offers a sample of the type of material included in this course.
