E SC 213: Materials in Nanotechnology

Collection description:
This collection, from the Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge Support (NACK) Center at Pennsylvania State University), includes materials from the undergraduate laboratory course titled Materials in Nanotechnology. The following nine units are included in the course:
- An Introduction to Colloidal and Self-Assembled Materials
- An Introduction to Nanoparticles and Nanostructures
- An Introduction to Nanoparticle Synthesis and Applications
- Quantum Dots
- Micro- and Nanomaterials in Bio Applications
- PDMS- An Example of a Versatile Material for Micro- and Nanotechnology
- Oxidation and Dielectric Materials
- Material Fabrication Utilizing Dry Etch Chemistry
- Material Fabrication Utilizing Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD)
Course Contents:
Each unit includes a number of lectures and associated laboratory activities that can be viewed separately or downloaded in .ppt and .pdf formats. Lectures provide in-depth coverage of each topic, including illustrations, examples, and comprehensive information. Each lab includes a variety of information, such as an objective, background information, a detailed procedure, charts and tables, and follow-up questions. Course lectures are available to view separately.
