Modeling Mechanical Subsystems of the Hybrid Electric Transmission

This lab is part of the course "Intro to Mechatronics" at Lawrence Technological University and was developed through seed funding from the Center for Advanced Automotive Technology (CAAT). In the lab students are introduced to the use of planetary gear sets and their application to hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) transmissions. Students are first familiarized with the planetary gear set equation and then use MATLab software to visualize the relationship between input data and the resulting output torque and speed through the gear set. All MATLab files are included and will require additional software to open.
