Statistical Process Control

This 14-page document, created by the Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge Network (NACK) Center at Pennsylvania State University, serves as a guide for a laboratory activity where students "create a basic SPC graph for maintaining gold nanoparticle manufacturing controls." Additionally, throughout the lab students will learn "how to read and interpret control charts and how to determine when a manufacturing process may need to be investigated for errors." The lab guide includes objectives, an introduction to Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), an overview of the ImageJ software to be used in the lab, step-by-step directions to the lab activity itself, and post-lab questions to test student comprehension.
