This webinar, provided by the Centers Collaborative for Technical Assistance, is the first part of a two part series that discusses characteristics of a strong community of practice (CoP). Several examples from the ATE community are given. This webinar was presented on February 25, 2016. The presenters were Marilyn Barger, Principal Investigator and Executive Director at the Florida Advanced Technological Center (FLATE); Jim Hyder, a professional consultant; and Barbara Lopez, a research engineer at the University of New Mexico. The webinar had the following objectives: 1. Be able to define and characterize a CoP; 2. Be able to differentiate between a CoP, Col, Network, and a Project Team; 3. Be introduced to evaluating the effectiveness of a CoP; and 4. Have resources for follow up. The webinar runs 1:05:58 minutes in length. Supplemental materials include presentation slides and a 15-page webinar transcript.
