Size and Scale Challenge Exercise

In this activity from the Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge Support Center (NACK Center) students order 23 items from largest to smallest. The activity introduces nanotechnology concepts through the comparison of measurements such as the thickness of a penny, the diameter of a nitrogen atom, and the length of a dust mite.

Included is a handout version of the assignment for students and presentation slides with each item correctly ranked.
